Festival Club FREE Evening Entertainment

After a mind blowing day of panel discussion and workshops, all you wanna do is get loose. This Is Not Art Festival Club offers free events every night, so hitch up your skirts and shorts and get to where the real networking happens.


THURSDAY 27th SEPTEMBER
HARD DNB DAY'S NIGHT – 10pm-midnight.
Lvl-3 Steel City DNB Djs shake up some Newcastle flavoured DNB and Jungle science. Featuring LSDJ, Quotient


FRIDAY28th SEPTEMBER
THE 2007 ELECTION SOAPBOXING MATCH – 6.30pm-7.30pm
MC'd by The Chaser's Charles Firth, this is one for the ranters. You have 120 seconds onstage to convince us to vote, revolt, or move to New Zealand. Lying, bribery and scare-mongering encouraged.


SPEECHLESS – 7.30pm-9.30pm
Spoken word gets mashed with sound and lights at the NYWF cross-platform performance showcase. From cross-dressing, sound poetry business to full-frontal audience intimidation, join Australia's most innovative show offs as they push the boundaries of what can be done with a microphone.


THE BALKAN GYPSY WEDDING – 9.30pm-midnight
You are invited to make party, party, party for a wedding. For celebrating the cousin's wedding we are inviting Nin Tzatziki and Sol& The Speaking Tribe for drama and passion, Lovelorn Living Party for helping you to get into a mood, and the Slipovitch Orchestra and Mojo Juju and the Snake Oil Merchants for warming you up and shaking you down. Please be making sure you have the finest threads and pickled herrings to be keeping your Baba happy.


SATURDAY 29th SEPTEMBER
COMEDY AT THE FESTI CLUB – 7.30-8.30pm
It's all shits and giggles until somebody opens their fly? Join Purple Duck, Mia Stanford and special guests for an hour of messtival madness in the silliest possible style. Featuring Purple Duck, Mia Stanford, Zoe Coombs-Marr


GET UP, DOWN AND DIRTY: NYWF HIP-HOP – 8.30pm-10.30pm
Join outspoken hip-hop/dub purveyors Elf Tranzporter and DJ Wasabi, experimental performance outfit Business As Usaul and manic grime-hop crew The Hobby Whores for a night of lightning lyrics, dirty bass and poetry in mashy motion


SUNDAY 30th SEPTEMBER
THE NIGHT SHARE, LIVE TO AIR – 8.30pm-10pm
Radio National's The Night Air broadcasts live to give the nation a taste of This Is Not Art 2007. Featuring performances from Toydeath, Ross Bencina, Wire MC, Vanessa Berry and more.


FESTIVAL CLOSING NIGHT PARTY – 10pm-midnight
My ears hurt! I’m having a panic attack! I’m on fire! I live in a share house! Too bad!!!!! It’s the Electrofringe 2007 Closing Party! Everybody knows that elongated Harshcore is the only way to party and makes a fitting end to what will have been a lovely festival right up until this point. Featuring Passenger of Shit, Mainstream, Autoclave, Drill Bit, rev777. See you there.


MONDAY 01st SEPTEMBER
LET'S GET FOLKED UP @ FESTIVAL CLUB – 4pm-5pm.
It's the end of the festival and time to unwind. Grab a beverage and join some ragged-voiced crooners for acoustic tales of heartbreak and bad customer service. Featuring Paul the Waiter, Leah Flannigan, Eytan Messiah.


DEMO LISTENING & FEEDBACK – 4pm-6pm
Want to have your tracks heard by participating artists and industry at this year;s Sound Summit. Submit your work then have it played.

Sunday Fair

SUNDAY 30th SEPTEMBER
ZINE AND INDEPENDENT PRESS FAIR @ CIVIC PARK – 12pm-6pm.
Bring your wallet, your picnic blanket and cool things to swap at Australia's largest Zine and Independent publishing fair. Be delighted by table after table of amazing home-grown writing, illustration, comics, zines, badges, posters and more.


BAD WRITING PINATA OF CATHARTIC SHAME @ CIVIC PARK – 3.30pm-4pm. FREE
Bring your worst writing to the zine fair to add to the Bad Writing Pinata. It's your chance to redeem yourself through trial by papier mache. Offenders on trial will be required to read their work. The sentence will be an appropriate number of Pinata lashes. Bring a stick. Gluing begins at 12pm. Free fun for all.


SUNDAY FAIR EVENING GIG @ CIVIC PARK – 5pm-8pm. FREE
An evening of performances from Electrofringe artists in the great outdoors. With: Gail Priest, Secret Killer Of Names, Ross F Manning, Hetleveiker, Fugal Quese, Undecisive God, Anna Chase. Event is free.
