City Rail Notice - Trackwork on Central-Newcastle trains this long weekend
If you are travelling from Sydney - Newcastle by train to get to the festival, please take note of this notice from the City Rail website, and be aware that your journey may take an extra 15 minutes:
Newcastle & Central Coast Line - Central to Newcastle
07:45 PM Fri 03 October 2008 to 02:00 AM Tue 07 October 2008
* Newcastle & Central Coast Line trains will operate via the North Shore Line, to an amended timetable. Trains will arrive and depart from platforms 16/18 at Central Station.
* Buses replace Northern Line trains between Strathfield and Hornsby.
* Trains from Central to Wyong / Newcastle will operate up to 15 minutes later than the normal timetable. [NB aim to be at Central platform 16/18 at the regular timetabled departure time]
* Customers connecting with Hunter Line services should change trains at Hamilton.
* Please allow an additional journey time of up to 15 minutes.

Note from TINA: This trackwork doesnt seem too complicated - Trains will depart from Central platform 16/18 up to 15 mins later than the regular timetable, change to a bus Strathfield-Hornsby, and back on a train at Hornsby, to take you into Newcastle!
