The program for This Is Not Art 2007 is well and truly on the way. The bun is in Newcastle's oven and we can't wait to welcome our artists, writers, troublemakers, thinkers, party kids and performers. It's going to be killer.

Electrofringe is in it's tenth year of showcasing electronic arts and culture. This year we're bringing site-specific subversions, rogue radio waves, wearable art, workshops, pub quizzes and an extra-special hands on interactive space so that we can get up to our elbows in it. Confirmed international acts include Tim Heckler, Leafcutter John and Sebastien Roux.

Critical Animals is poised to pounce: our creative research forums will play with concepts of obscurity and obsession, academic art/instiution battles, literal literary journeys and much more.

Sound Summit serves up independent artists, labels and people who work and play in the electronic and hip-hop scene. Our 2007 program is going to focus on production skills, tools and creation, with masterclasses and performances run by front-running artists and industry personalities. Be here to network, learn and seriously dance.

National Young Writers Festival is brings together Australia's most challenging and original your writers, publishers, performers and trouble makers for a five-day creative bender.  Special guests include Shaun Tan, Anna Funder, Samuel Wagon Watson and Henry Reynolds.

TiN Radio will focus on festival content and feature artists and events throughout the festival.  Empty main-street shopfronts will be transformed by extravagant art installations, night-time streetscapes will be lavished with audio-visual projections. Tune in for all the latest events and updates.

There is so much planned we can hardly contain ourselves. Book your cheap flights! Book a hostel or couch! This Is Not Art is set to change lives, challenge attitudes and wear out your brain this October long weekend.
