Accommodation
Staying overnight? Newcastle city has a range of good options for accommodation.
To be reasonably close to the action, look for accommodation in the following city areas: Newcastle, Newcastle East, Newcastle West, Cooks Hill, Bar Beach, The Hill, Wickham. These are in walking distance or an easy bike ride.
Carrington, Merewether, The Junction, Islington, Hamilton are OK if you will have a bike or a car or don't mind a little walk. Hamilton has a good bus service.
Broadmeadow, Tighes Hill and Mayfield are a little further afield, so you'll need a car, unless you are keen on the pushie. But, buses are regular to these areas and the accomodation will be located on main road bus routes.
Anything outside of this will be in the 'burbs and a car ride away. But still doable if you have a vehicle or dont mind public transport.
Stockton has the only caravan park nearby but it is across the harbour and the ferries stop at midnight, so you would have to drive after 12.
