Stuffing a Greyhound: Get yourself to Newcastle with the Mobile Theatre Research Institute
Breaking news from This Is Not Art pilgrims - an invitation ...
"My advice is that you take one last look at the town where you live, (if it's on the East Coast of Australia between Melbourne and Newcastle, that is.) because chances are its gunna get burned down when we roll through it. That's right folks, lock up your sons, daughters, pets and toddlers cause all hell is about to break loose along the Princes Highway in the next week as the Mobile Theatre Research Institute hits the road to Newcastle.
Taking the physical form of a large Greyhound Bus, this demonic collection of, um, demons, is a misfit bunch drawn from every soggy nook and cranny of the dusty pisshole that is Melbourne's alternate theatre scene. We've got artists, actors, directors, builders, riggers, carnies, performers, writers, musicians and even a freakin archeologist (Seriously!). It'll be like ultimate fighting, but with more blood, fake chairs and anabolic steroids, and less of those macho wussies that get into contact sports. This is about artistic intelligence damn it! Fed by the grace of our lady Debrina, goddess of refuse, and spurred on by the maniac and twisted memories of all our long-dead heroes, this summer - we're taking theatre to the streets...
Participate. Join the convoy. Attach yourselves, like remoras, to this great hulking beast of entertainment. roll through coastal Victoria and New South Wales like a herd of educated and thoroughly drunken Vikings, screaming incoherence and spraying skunk juice everywhere! Partake! Participate!

This Sunday morning the 28th (strictly AM) the Bus is being packed in and departing from Edinburgh Gardens on St Georges Road, North Fitzroy Melbourne. We invite you to come along and take pictures so that you'll have something to tell your insipid grandchildren about at the end of your terribly dreary lives... But I'm ranting again. We'll post more updates soon you bastards - you can't escape.
Because sooner or later someone will as: WERE YOU ON THE BUS?
TIME IS NOW!!! GET UP IN IT!!! TIME IS NOW!!!"
Sounds like fun to us - if you want to see them at This Is Not Art in Newcastle, check out Black Lung Theatre, Caravan of Dooom, and the Crack Lab etc
