TENT CITY CO-ORDINATOR
Tent City Co-ordinator – Plan, implement and manage a temporary camping ground to house festival visitors and guests. an excellent opportunity to test your Events Management training! (A for this role)
The role
Reports to and receives support from the Festival Co-ordinator
Project plan to implement all aspects of the Temporary Camp Ground – including but not limited to:
Research costs and conditions for the Temporary Camp Ground
Prepare Event License Application for Newcastle City Council
Manages the Tent City budget – devise camping fees
Provide information on the rates and arrangements for the camp ground for use on website and in festival announcements
Prepare a site plan and liaise with Newcastle City Council officers regarding the site
Liaise with Publicity Team to produce a media release to promote Tent City
Manage an email account – answer queries from visitors
Manage reservations and bookings - keep a spreadsheet/database which lists reservation details
Plan for, recruit and supervise volunteers to assist with the campground
Manage the arrivals and departures, including registrations, money taking, banking
Manage site-set up and pack down
Host visitors at the campground
Report on Tent City plans and developments, including debrief after the event
Position requires 4-6 hours per week prior to and immediately after the festival, and is full time during the event. There is a small $ stipend for this role.
